Which honestly makes sense because I’m not sure what could even make makeup wipes more luxurious or expensive, if one of the high end brands wanted to have a take at them. I’m probably not the only one who feels this way, I hope.Īlso shocked that they decided on makeup wipes!! I actually just noticed recently that a lot of high end brands haven’t ventured into makeup wipes, it seems to be dominated by drugstore and less expensive brands. Those are the last “fun” items I bought from ABH and most of their palettes they released after subculture just didn’t really interest me. (Mostly because I dropped it a few times and two shades shattered lol, otherwise it probably would’ve taken me 3 more years to use it up lmao) I have the subculture palette and don’t ever use it. I’m still using my modern renaissance palette, and my Nicole Guerrero highlighter palette that I bought at launch is finally on its last legs. Not gonna lie, I’m trying to remember when was the last time I bought something from ABH other than their brow pencils that I use on a regular basis for a while now. I remember expressing my disappointment in ABH in a tweet and I had Rodan + Fields reps and their husbands harassing me for a looooooong time for daring to say anything negative about their MLM. I always assumed that it was a lie on her end to plead innocence but I’ll probably never know! I know that people in her income bracket probably don’t hear much about MLMs (unless one of her friends decided to start one or something) but there’s so many influencers out there making videos warning about pyramid schemes now that it’s hard to believe she had never heard of one at all?Įither way, I was really pissed about it since I’m very anti-MLM, especially as I’m a Midwestern SAHM so it feels like I know of hundreds of people at this point personally who have been taken advantage of by an MLM. Supposedly the collab was set up by Anastasia Soare (she did a “how to” video for the R+F reps that were buying the kit, iirc) so honestly either explanation could be correct. But I do NOT feel like she should be involved in the actual running of the business and should be an honorary model/influencer for the brand AT MOST. It’s funny because I actually do like a lot of the Norvina line (the loose glitters, mini palettes, etc) and I think some of the launch shoots she’s coordinated have been fun/interesting, like the one for the Amrezy palette. I can see why she stopped using Twitter since it really showed that she was not the most qualified person to be running the company and couldn’t handle it when people disagreed with her or called her out. Or the infamous “what is an mlm” tweet after the internet (rightfully) tore apart ABH for their disastrous decision to do a Rodan and Fields collab. I’ll never forget the dumb tweets that Norvina used to do when she used twitter, like arguing with POC that they couldn’t make things in deeper shades because retailers would just refuse to stock them and that there wasn’t a demand for them (paraphrasing here so that wasn’t the exact wording but it was something along those lines).
